Like many other organizations around the world, the GCCC adjusted its schedule of ICAP exams considering recommendations to reduce the spread of the virus and keep staff and participants healthy.
Key Updates for ICAP Exams:
• ICAP-Treatment exams have been updated and merged with the exams that NAADAC uses so that we are now offering one global standard. We now have 4 levels (ICAP I-IV) and you can find more information on those and that credential process here.
• Cost Reduction: We have reduced the cost of the remote-proctoring option from $125 to $100 making it the same price as those who can do a computer center exam. It is a temporary “COVID-19-related” reduction.
• ALL ICAP Exams (Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Support) will be finished and offered at the ISSUP event in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
What’s in process:
• ICAP-Treatment exams are currently being scheduled through their UTC trainers and offered individually utilizing remote-proctoring. Individuals will be able to apply and register for an exam utilizing remote proctoring by late summer.
• The ICAP-Prevention exam is projected to be offered beginning in June with in-person exams in countries where COVID-19 regulations allow people to gather in a room to take the test. The process will begin with those who have already been trained in the UPC Core and want to be certified to train.
• The ICAP-Recovery Support exam is being updated and we do not have a projected date as of yet.
As a reminder, you may still apply for a credential renewal as no exam is required for that. More information on the renewal requirements can be found here.
